Dui Bhubon (দুই ভুবন in Bengali meaning “Two Worlds”) is a digital archive showcasing the accomplishments of the Bangladeshi-Canadian community from diverse genders, religious, educational, and social backgrounds. Our aim is to study the effects of dual identities on the mental health and development of the youth in the visible minority groups.

Our Origins
Our project traces back to a monograph published by Dr. Mustahid Husain called, Masculinity and Mental Health of Muslim Men of Colour: Diaspora and Intersectionality of Canadian Youth (see more). This book investigated the causes behind the unusually-high suicide rates of young Bangladeshi-Canadian men, corroborated by BIES – an NGO based in Toronto. Our study has now expanded to the youth of diverse genders and identities.
